I hear that the purpose of yoga is to prepare our bodies for a quiet mind. And there’s no sanity without a quiet mind, one that’s larger and more peaceful than the ping-ping-ping-pong mind that can take over during a day.
I’m a relative newcomer to yoga. I practiced on and off during my adult life and then fell head over heels into it last year. My morning practice is the most delicious part of the day.
I’m your average, back-of-the-class, can’t-find-the-right-pants-to-save-my-life, hamstrings-like-doped-up-wrestlers kind of yogi. And i LOVE it.
I’m blogging for Yoga Journal these days, under the title Beginner’s Mind. These blogs funnel through this website as well.
Please feel free to join the conversation by submitting your thoughts here or on Facebook at Dr. Kristin Shepherd. It’s all far more entertaining when we’re in it together.
Thanks.
